What is Fungril-100mg?
Fungril-100mg is an antifungal medicine containing Itraconazole 100mg. It is used to treat a wide range of fungal infections of the skin, nails, mouth, and other parts of the body. It works by stopping the growth of fungi that cause infection.
This is a prescription medicine. Please take it only as advised by your doctor.
Uses / Indications
Fungril-100mg is prescribed for the treatment of:
• Tinea infections (Ringworm) - Tinea corporis, Tinea cruris, Tinea pedis
• Candidiasis (Yeast infection) of mouth, skin, and vagina
• Onychomycosis - Fungal infection of fingernails and toenails
• Pityriasis versicolor
• Systemic fungal infections where prescribed by a specialist
Note: The exact indication will be determined by your doctor after diagnosis.
How It Works
Itraconazole belongs to the triazole antifungal group. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, a vital component of the fungal cell membrane. This damages the cell membrane of the fungus, stopping its growth and leading to its death, thereby clearing the infection.
How to Use - Directions
• Take Fungril-100mg capsule exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
• It is best taken immediately after a full meal for better absorption.
• Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water. Do not break, crush or chew it.
• Take it at the same time each day to help you remember.
• Do not skip doses. Complete the full course prescribed even if you feel better early. Stopping early may cause the infection to return.
• If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose.
For dosage, duration, and suitability, please consult your doctor or pharmacist.
